So, we've got this little newsletter we do once a week called "The Write Stuff." This week, we're writing up issue #52, which means we've done this for about a year now. A giveaway is in order!

As you can imagine, Santa had quite a few letters to read. He was quite taken by the number of handwritten letters that came in this year. It was a welcome sight for his old eyes.

Santa said it was difficult to choose just one letter as the winner of the giveaway. So many of you wrote such lovely letters! After much contemplation, he gave us the one letter that was picked as the winner.

If you're curious to know what all the good little boys and girls asked for as their top Christmas wish pen, here are some observations :

Most boys and girls wished for a Visconti pen over all other brands. The #1 most wished-for pen was a Visconti Homo Sapiens fountain pen.

Pelikan came in a close second, OMAS third & fourth place shared by Pilot & Sailor.

Starting today (Sept 17th) and running until Sept 30th, we're gathering entries for our biggest giveaway yet - a collection of pens from JinHao, along with Diamine ink and a Rhodia pad. We're raffling off this complete, 10-pen collection to one lucky winner that will be randomly chosen when the official deadline for entries closes.

This set of JinHao pens we're giving away has something for everyone. Ornate, classic, modern and stylish designs. No one pen is the same. Some come with converters, some do not. Chances are, you may not be using all 10 pens at one time, so this may not be an issue. They do take standard international converters or international ink cartridges. InCoWriMo 2015 Giveaway Results

Hey All,

Firstly, I wanted to mention how awesome all of you are who sent in a piece of written correspondence to us during this giveaway. We were delightfully surprised about how creative and personal each letter or postcard was. We were also floored by the hundreds of entries we received from around the world. From our neighbors up North in Canada to the Philippines, the UK, Spain, Norway and down under in Australia, it is truly astounding what the internet can accomplish in terms of a global following.

With today being the deadline for entries, we eagerly awaited the mailman this morning in anticipate of a few stragglers. The last entries came in and the great drawing began. Instead of picking from a hat, which could have led to a bias in shape, size or texture of the entry, we counted out every piece of mail, shuffled the pile, and ran a random number generator that picked the winning entry.

ACME Studios Spring Social Giveaway

We're so over the winter. After coming back from another snow day, we're looking to create positive thoughts to bring Spring closer. This week's social giveaway, we've got a fresh, colorful pen up for grabs.

InCoWriMo Month-Long Giveaway

February has already begun and so has InCoWriMo 2015. Before you jump to Google to find out what the heck I'm talking about, InCoWriMo is short for International Correspondence Writing Month. In the same vein as November's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), InCoWriMo is a month dedicated to letter writing every day of February. That means writing and sending 28 letters during the month.

We'd love to get the word out to get more folks writing and sending letters. So, Goldspot Fine Writing will be sponsoring an InCoWriMo month-long giveaway.

Holiday Shipping Schedule

Now, on to business. Christmas Eve is upon us, which is the last possible day to either receive a USPS package or UPS express shipment. Here is a schedule leading up to Christmas Eve and how much our "Get it by Xmas" shipping will cost.

For the remainder of today, Thursday, December 18th, you can take advantage of our Free Shipping Day promotion where there is no minimum to get free shipping with your order. That means any refill or pen ships with $0 shipping charge. This party ends at 11:59pm.

Once Friday, the 19th comes, we are offering a special "Get it by XMAS" shipping method. Simply add any "Quick Ship" items to your cart and select the "Get it by XMAS" shipping method during checkout. We guarantee that your order will be expedited for shipment and we will try our best to get them to you on or before December 24th.

The "Quick Ship" items are available for immediate shipping, but sometimes inventory can run out quicker than our website can be updated. If this is the case, we will contact you as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements or give you the option to cancel. Although our engraving team is fast at work, churning out scores of engraved pens and gifts every day this month, if you select engraving on your order at this time, it may add an additional day to the shipping time. Each year, it's getting bigger and bigger. Fountain Pen Day is fast becoming a yearly tradition amongst fountain pen enthusiasts online, around the globe. We're looking to continue that tradition with our biggest celebration yet.

What is Fountain Pen Day?

Recognized the first Friday in November, Fountain Pen Day is a celebration of the writing instrument and rejoicing the act of writing. Write a letter to a friend, send someone an "intro to fountain pens care package," share photos of your fountain pens on social media, handwrite your tweets, or set aside some quiet time to write in your favorite journal. There are numerous ways to appreciate the pen and to promote the use of fountain pens in our modern, daily lives.

Goldspot Sponsors Fountain Pen Day with a Giveaway and Sale

As an online fine writing retailer and sponsor of Fountain Pen Day, we are doing our part this year to promote the use of the pen by giving away free fountain pens and ink for this weekend only. July Pen Giveaway Winner

Last Week, we kicked off a new format for our monthly giveaway and, oh boy, did the pen-loving public respond. We had over 100 facebook likes, tweets and comments on our giveaway blog post. I know this may not be a lot to some bloggers with a larger following, but seeing all the nice comments and notes of thanks from all of you really put a smile on our faces.
