Now, everyone has another chance to win at our newsletter giveaway and you don't need to be signed up for our e-mail newsletter to get the second chance.
Currently, the way the giveaway works is that anyone who is actively subscribed to our e-mail newsletter is eligible to be chosen for the monthly prize. At the end of the month, we randomly select one of these subscribers and ask for them to contact us with their current address so we can ship the prize off to them directly. We are now giving the selected winner 30 days to claim the prize. If we are not contacted within that time, we will open up the giveaway to our Facebook and Twitter followers.
When we open the giveaway, we will ask for Likes and Tweets to get your entries. Anyone who likes, replies to our tweet or re-tweets our link to the giveaway on our blog will be entered and we will randomly select one lucky user on Twitter or Facebook to receive the prize.
We first started our Monthly Newsletter Giveaway in June of 2012, as mentioned on our blog.

My, How Far We've Come
Taking a look at our 2010 Annual Catalog really brought me back. It was printed back in late October of 2009, but served as our holiday and mail order catalog for the better part of this year. On page 3, there is information about our Newsletter, Blog, Facebook and Twitter pages. As they are screenshots of the pages at the time, it's almost like taking a photograph of the old house you used to live in.
Back in October '09 we had..
67 Facebook "Fans" (when they used to be called Fans)
107 Twitter Followers
& completely different blog & e-mail newsletter formats.
What difference a year makes!
490 Facebook "peoples who like" (which I still refer to as Fans) 731% increase
334 Twitter Followers 312% increase
I don't think I could voice my appreciation enough for everyone who has followed and supported Goldspot in our various social media efforts. Your readership and participation are extremely valued.

Retail Me Not Goldspot
So, you're one click away from checkout, shopping cart full of goodies, and you're just about to pull out your credit card when the thought dawns on you like a great, big lightbulb hovering above your head : Let me see if I can get a coupon for this!
Sites like RetailMeNot have made coupon hunting a 5 second "google" search away. I won't lie, I've done it before for sites like Amazon and B&N, but with limited success. Although the search for the coupon can take less than 5 seconds, you may waste 15 minutes trying out the different coupons to see which one takes. Coupons, especially online ones, expire rapidly. A coupon code may sometimes last one or two weeks. By the time someone submits the valid code on RetailMeNot, it may only have a few days before it is invalid.
Listen, we want to make it simple and straightforward to our customers. That is why we have our Facebook Fan Page set up with a "Promotional Offers" Photo Album. There, you can find some long-term promotions that don't have a set expiration. For limited-time sales and coupons, we post them regularly on Facebook and our Twitter feeds.
Most stores will want you to sacrifice your e-mail address to obtain "special offers" and "deals." In reality, don't we all have too much e-mail to check already? However, if you do prefer to receive our promotions via e-mail, you can always sign up through our eNewsletter Sign Up Page.
Next time you price shop for pens, be sure to check our Facebook and Twitter pages for our most current discounts and special offers. You'll be glad you did!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Goldspot Pens
Happy St. Patty's Day everyone! I grabbed a few green pens from our stock room to take this picture. From left to right, we've got the ACME Crayon in lime, Pelikan Souveran 600, Aurora Ipsilon Resin, Lamy AL-Star, Caran d'Ache Metal ballpoint pen and Laban Germana Rubber.
The poorly written (I'll admit I'm no calligrapher) greeting on top was done with Noodler's Forest Green Ink.
By the way, today is a great day to be a fan of ours on Facebook or to follow us on Twitter. We're running a special promotion for St. Patrick's Day ONLY. Join up to find the promotion code.

The Facebook Traveling Pen Giveaway
Enter to Win a $25 Gift Card to Goldspot.com
No purchase necessary. Gift Card not redeemable for cash.
Partly inspired by the "roaming gnome" prank and the recent Twitter pen & paper community topic #dailyarsenal, coined by @DIYSara, Goldspot Pens is conducting a month-long giveaway through our Facebook Fan page called "The Traveling Pen."
Pens can become office utensils, status symbols, travel companions, workhorses and confidants of our innermost thoughts, etc. We want to see how your pens fit into your life. Snap a picture of your writing instrument of choice in an environment that tells a story. For example, if you are always buried with paperwork at the office, you may want to take a picture of your Lamy 2000 resting atop a stack of papers that rest in your "inbox" on your desk. If you're a big Star Wars fan and love pens, take a shot of your MB Starwalker resting against a Luke Skywalker action figure as if it is his lightsaber. The more creative, the better.
Here's how we will run the Giveaway :
- Entries must be submitted through our Facebook Fan page in the "Fan Photos" Album. If you are not a Fan yet on Facebook, Find us Here.
- Upload a photo and title it.
- Enter as many pictures as you would like from now until Wednesday, September 30th. The winning photo will be picked by the Goldspot Staff.
- The winner will be contacted through Facebook to obtain their mailing address to send the $25 Goldspot gift card. The photo will also be published on this blog, with the photographer's consent, of course.
- No inappropriate or pornographic images, please. If Facebook doesn't automatically delete them, we sure will. Goldspot reserves the right to remove any image that is found offensive.
- Family members of Goldspot employees are ineligible to win the giveaway. Sorry, Dad.
- No purchase necessary.
- Gift Card cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Creativity
- Photo Quality / Clarity
- Representation of Theme
