Congrats to Delta and Monteverde

Delta and Monteverde have been recognized in the fine-writing community by Pen World magazine. The Delta Capri, Blue Grotto was recognized as the best pen with a cultural theme. The Monteverde Walt Disney Signature Collection Sleeping Beauty received the award for best pen of high style. Congratulations to the Yafa pen co., who distributes both brands in the US market. I don't know if any of our readers may remember from last year in November, but right around the election time, we held a two week-long vote for 2008's Pen of the Year. If anyone remembers the winner, comment on the blog and I'll send you a prize. Although we don't have another general election this year, we had a great response from last year's vote and are looking forward to doing it again and making it a yearly thing. It would be like a Goldspot Reader's Choice for 2009 pen of the year. Not as illustrious as the Pen World trophy, but it's something. Are there any early nominations?

  1. The Online Newood Collection was the Pen of the Year Last year, wasn't it?

  2. Awesome! I am impressed on two counts: 1: that someone actually remembered. 2: that you responded so quickly with the correct answer. Great job! Your prize: a pat on the back. Just kidding. I will message you directly on twitter.

  3. I would have to vote for the Montblanc Skywalker as the pen of the year. Even though the collection has been out for a while, The pen writes wondefully. I have become very attached the pen since I started using it, and every other pen that I try just doesn't seem good enough. I look forward to reading your blog and see which pen you decide is the best!

  4. @Penlover3 : Thanks for the suggestion. I will most likely have the nominees put together by October and do the vote again in mid November for a few weeks. Not many manufacturers have come out with the same number of items as last year. I think they're all gearing up for the Christmas season for their new releases. I think we haven't seen the winner yet at this point in the year.
